I COMMUNITY LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 2010/2012

There was submitted Report No 51-2010 by Director of Leisure and Communities outlining the Community Learning and Development (CLD) Strategy for the period 2010/2012 in line with the National Performance Framework, the Dundee Single Outcome Agreement and the Dundee Partnership's Community Planning arrangements.

The Committee agreed to:-

(i) approve the draft CLD Strategy;

(ii) acknowledge the alignment of the CLD Strategy with the National Performance Framework, the Dundee Single Outcome Agreement and the Dundee Partnership's Community Planning arrangements;

(iii) refer the CLD Strategy to the Dundee Partnership Management Group for the approval of the Community Planning Partnership; and

(iv) approve the spend of the grant from Lifelong Learning UK for the upskilling of the CLD workforce.

II SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT - DUNDEE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN PARTNERSHIP

There was submitted Report No 63-2010 by the Director of Leisure and Communities seeking approval to enter into a three year Service Level Agreement of 20,000 per annum with Dundee Violence Against Women Partnership to provide ongoing, sustainable strategic management and support regarding the issue of prostitution in the Dundee area. This would include strategic oversight of the Vice Versa project, which co-ordinates partnership working to provide support to women who are involved in street prostitution in Dundee.

The Committee approved the three year Service Level Agreement of 20,000 per annum (total 60,000) with Dundee Violence Against Women Partnership for the period 1st March, 2010 to 31st March, 2013.

III CAPITAL WORKS AT SPORTS CENTRES

The Convener, Councillors Ross, Hunter and McCready and Bailie Wallace declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of their Council appointments to Dundee Leisure Board.

There was submitted Report No 56-2010 by the Director of Leisure and Communities seeking approval for capital expenditure at Dundee International Sports Centre and Douglas Sports Centre.

The Committee approved:-

(i) the refurbishment of the shower area at Dundee International Sports Centre; and

(ii) the refurbishment of the gents changing room corridor at Douglas Sports Centre.
