I ANNUAL CONSUMER SURVEY 2009

 

There was submitted Report No 6-2010 by the Assistant Chief Executive summarising the main findings from the 2009 Annual Consumer Survey and explaining their use.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the results contained in this report and agree that the issues raised should continue to be addressed as part of the Council's commitment to continuous improvement using the Public Sector Improvement Framework model;

 

(ii) remit the Assistant Chief Executive to disseminate the customer contact results to departments for use in staff training on customer care;

 

(iii) invite each local community planning partnership to consider the key neighbourhood results for their area once the detailed information has been analysed and disseminated;

 

(iv) authorise officers to publish the report on the Council's website and make available copies on request as part of the Council's commitment to Public Performance Reporting; and

 

(v) note some results in relevant areas from the separate Scottish Household Survey commissioned by the Scottish Government.

 

II STATUTORY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 2008/2009 - COMPARATIVE DATA

 

There was submitted Report No 28-2010 by the Director of Finance advising the Sub-Committee on the performance of Dundee City Council in relation to the other Scottish authorities as defined by the Accounts Commission's recent publication of all authorities' performance for the financial year 2008/2009, and also on the performance of Dundee City Council in relation to the other main Scottish cities.

 

The Sub-Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the overall performance level of 79%, the same as last year, in terms of the Audit Scotland performance data;

 

(ii) note the Council's performance in relation to the other main cities;

 

(iii) encourage officers to seek further improvements in performance as recommended by Best Value; and

 

(iv) note that both Elected Members and Chief Officers review the items in Appendix 2, particularly with regard to red colour coded items to assess if there was further scope for improvement.
