I DUNDEE COMMUNITY REGENERATION FUND 2010/2011 TO 2012/2013

 

Councillor Hunter declared a non-financial interest in this item by virtue of being the Council's representative on the Ardler Village Trust Board.

 

There was submitted Report No 238-2011 by the Assistant Chief Executive relative to the above.

 

The Committee approved the funding process and the proposals contained in Section 5.2 of the report appended hereto. (Appendix I).

 

II TENDERS - DUNDEE HOUSE FURNITURE

 

This item was withdrawn.

 

III HILLTOWN REGENERATION FRAMEWORK - REDEVELOPMENT OPTIONS APPRAISAL

 

On a reference to Article VII of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 26th October, 2009, there was submitted Report No 206-2011 by the Director of Housing seeking the approval of the preferred means of making available the Council's development land interest in accordance with the aims of the Hilltown Physical Regeneration Framework.

 

The Committee approved Option 3 in the report, the phased approach, as the appropriate route to securing redevelopment of the Maxwelltown and Derby Street areas.

 

IV OVERVIEW OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN SCOTLAND

 

There was submitted Report No 241-2011 by the Director of Finance provided elected members with a summary of the above national study that had been undertaken by Audit Scotland on behalf of the Accounts Commission.

 

The Committee noted the key findings arising from this national study, including Appendix 1, which identified action points for Councils and questions for elected members to consider and assess how key issues were being dealt with and, in particular, to identify where further action may be required.

 

V ASSURANCE AND IMPROVEMENT UPDATE

 

There was submitted Report No 242-2011 by the Director of Finance providing elected members with an update on the Assurance and Improvement Plan 2011/2014 that was recently issued by Audit Scotland on behalf of the various regulatory bodies responsible for scrutinising the services provided by the Council.

 

The Committee noted the information contained within the report and the Assurance and Improvement Plan update 2011/2014.

VII TENDERS - PROVISION OF BANKING SERVICES

 

After considering Report No 248-2011 by the Director of Finance detailing offers received for the provision of banking services, the Committee agreed to accept the offer from Royal Bank of Scotland amounting to 147,108 over three years, it being noted that the figure included the cost of other bodies such as Tay Road Bridge Joint Board, Tayside Joint Police Board and Tayside Contracts which were administered as part of the contract.
