I TENDERS RECEIVED

 

There was submitted Report No 501-2011 by the City Architectural Services Officer detailing tenders received and requesting decisions thereon:-

 

(a) 50 PROVOST ROAD - REPAIRS NOTICE IN DEFAULT

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from George Martin (Builders) Ltd, Dundee, amounting to 155,980.57, together with allowances of 12,033 for professional services and 8,401 for administration charges, making a total expenditure of 176,414.57.

 

(b) 52 PROVOST ROAD - REPAIRS NOTICE IN DEFAULT

 

The Committee agreed to accept an offer from George Martin (Builders) Ltd, Dundee, amounting to 134,432.83, together with allowances of 9,754 for professional services and 18,025 for administration charges, making a total expenditure of 162,211.83.

 

(c) CRAIGIE 5TH FLATS AND MAISONETTES, CRAIGIE 3RD, 4TH, 5TH COTTAGES AND DEAN AVENUE - HEATING, KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS

 

The Committee agreed to a partnering project with the Environment Department (Construction Services) amounting to 719,000, together with the undernoted allowances:-

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer from Gowrie Contracts Ltd, amounting to 194,525, together with the undernoted allowances:-

III 17 BUTTARS PLACE - IMPROVEMENT FOR SALE

 

Councillor Hunter declared a non-financial interest in this item of business by virtue of his residing in a neighbouring property.

 

There was submitted Report No 504-2011 by the Director of Housing proposing improvement of the block of flats at 17 Buttars Place for sale on the open market.

 

The Committee gave approval for the Director of Housing to instruct the specification of the necessary repair work and tender for refurbishment to then be issued following approval of the revised HRA Capital Plan scheduled for January, 2012.

 

IV DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL RESPONSE ON A CONSULTATION ON THE REGULATION OF SOCIAL RENTEDHOUSING IN SCOTLAND

 

There was submitted Report No 502-2011 by the Director of Housing containing the Council's response to the Scottish Housing Regulator's consultation paper issued in September on the Regulation of Social Rented Housing in Scotland.

 

The Committee approved the response to the consultation, as detailed in Appendix 1 of the report, for submission to the Scottish Government.
