I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

Councillor Dawson declared a non-financial interest in Article III by virtue of his employment with Scottish and Southern Energy.

 

II TENDERS RECEIVED BY CITY ENGINEER - DEMOLITION - 1-12 SMALL MEADOW COURT

 

There was submitted Report No 413-2012 by the City Engineer detailing tenders received and requesting a decision thereon.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the lowest tender from Dundee Plant Ltd, amounting to 39,138, together with the undernoted allowances:-

making a total expenditure of 62,400.

 

III GREEN DEAL AND ENERGY COMPANY OBLIGATION

 

The Committee acceded to a request for a deputation to address the Committee relative to the above item.

 

After the deputation had stated its case and answered questions from members of the Committee it was thanked for its attendance and withdrew.

 

There was submitted Report No 422-2012 by the Director of Housing appraising the Committee on recent initiatives regarding Green Deal, Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and other initiatives such as bulk fuel purchase schemes and seeking approval for the Council's level of commitment to the Green Deal initiative.

 

The Committee noted progress made under current initiatives and agreed a future partnership approach regarding Green Deal and ECO to maximise the benefits to Dundee's citizens.

 

IV HOUSING DEPARTMENT SERVICE PLAN

 

The Committee agreed that the above item be deferred.

 

V TENDERS RECEIVED

There was submitted Report No 427-2012 by the City Architect detailing tenders received and requesting decisions thereon:-

 

(a) TROTTICK 2ND DEVELOPMENT - WINDOW REPLACEMENT

 

The Committee agreed to a negotiated project with the Environment Department (Construction Services), amounting to 43,890.12, together with an allowance of 3,730.66 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 47,620.78.

 

(b) ST MARY'S 6TH DEVELOPMENT - REPLACEMENT CLADDING TO WEIR TIMBER HOUSES

 

The Committee agreed to a negotiated project with the Environment Department (Construction Services), amounting to 1,079,384.29, together with an allowance of 91,747.66 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 1,171,131.95.

 

(c) KIRK STREET 2ND DEVELOPMENT

 

The Committee agreed to a negotiated project with the Environment Department (Construction Services) amounting to 448,282.82, together with an allowance of 38,104.04 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 486,386.86.
