There was submitted Report No 514-2013 by the Director of Education seeking approval of the scheme for school terms and holidays for sessions 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.

III REVISED GUIDELINES ON ENROLMENT AND PLACING REQUEST PROCEDURES IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARYSCHOOLS
There was submitted Report No 380-2013 by the Director of Education seeking authority to undertake consultation on revised Guidelines on Enrolment and Placing Requests in Primary and Secondary Schools.
The Committee agreed to:-
(i) note the proposed revision of the guidelines;
(ii) instruct the Director of Education to undertake a statutory consultation on the revised policy under the terms of Schools (Scotland) Consultation Act 2010;
(iii) instruct the Director of Education to report back to Committee on the outcome of the consultation process; and
(iv) note that the guidelines which were formally agreed would take effect from:-
August 2014: The existing procedures remain in place for P1 entry and for P7 pupils entering S1 at the start of Section 2014/2015. Placing requests made during the school year 2014/2015 will be considered using the revised guidelines.
August 2015: The revised guidelines will apply to all pupils.
