Cases Sub-committee - 18/11/2013

At a MEETING of the CASES SUB-COMMITTEE OF THE SOCIAL WORK AND HEALTH COMMITTEE held at Dundee on 18th November, 2013.

The Sub-Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

No declarations of interest were made.

II PURCHASE OF PLACEMENT WHICH EXCEEDS THE APPROVED NATIONAL CARE HOME RATE

There was submitted Report No 453-2013 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval of funding for services required to support one service user at an independent hospital which provided assessment and intervention for men and women who had a learning disability and complex needs to determine their longer-term needs.

The Sub-Committee agreed that a placement be funded for the service user to determine her longer term needs and that the next placement review take place within six months of admission.

III PURCHASE OF PLACEMENT WHICH EXCEEDS THE APPROVED NATIONAL CARE HOME RATE

There was submitted Report No 454-2013 by the Director of Social Work seeking approval of funding for one service user to be accommodated in a residential resource at a rate which exceeded the agreed authorised limit.

The Sub-Committee agreed that a placement be funded on a permanent basis to facilitate the service user moving from hospital inpatient accommodation.
