I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

No declarations of interest were made.

 

II OUTCOME OF CARE INSPECTORATE INSPECTION - HOMECARE SOCIAL CARE RESPONSE SERVICE

 

There was submitted Report No 74-2015 by the Director of Social Work advising the Committee of the outcome of the Care Inspectorate inspection of the Homecare Social Care Response Service, which was carried out on 14th November, 2014. The report outlined the findings of the Care Inspectorate and provided a summary of the grades achieved.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note the contents of the report and the continued improvements made to the service which were detailed in paragraph 4.4 of the report; and

 

(ii) to note the improvement in the grades awarded to the service.

 

III OUTCOME OF CARE INSPECTORATE INSPECTION - HOMECARE ENABLEMENT AND SUPPORT CITY-WIDE AND COMMUNITY MENTALHEALTH TEAM OLDER PEOPLE SERVICE

 

There was submitted Report No 73-2015 by the Director of Social Work advising the Committee of the outcome of the Care Inspectorate inspection of the Homecare Enablement and Support City-wide and Community Mental Health Older People Service, which was carried out between 21st‑22nd October, 2014. The report outlined the findings of the Care Inspectorate and provided a summary of the grades achieved.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) to note the contents of the report; and

 

(ii) to note the improvement in the grades awarded to the service.

 

IV SOCIAL WORK SCOTLAND ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION 17TH AND 18TH JUNE, 2015

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN11-2015 reporting that the Annual Conference of Social Work Scotland would take place at Crieff Hydro Hotel on Wednesday, 17th and Thursday, 18th June, 2015 with the theme: Whose Right is it Anyway?

 

The cost of attendance per delegate would be approximately 399, plus VAT, excluding travel and subsistence allowances.

 

Thereafter, Councillor Lynn, seconded by Councillor Hunter, moved that elected member attendance at the conference be on the basis of the Convener and one member of the Opposition.

 

As an amendment, Bailie Wright, seconded by Councillor McGovern, moved that no elected members attend the conference.

 

On a division, there voted for the motion - Councillors Lynn, Guild, Alexander, Black, Campbell, Cordell, Dawson, Hunter, McDonald, Melville, Murray, Lord Provost Duncan, Depute Lord Provost Roberts and Bailie Sawers (14); and for the amendment - Councillors Keenan, Asif, Bidwell, Brennan, Cruickshank, Ferguson, Gordon, McCready, McGovern, Macpherson, Bailies Wright, Borthwick and Scott (13) - whereupon the motion was declared carried.
