I DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

 

Councillor Dawson and Bailie Borthwick declared a non-financial interest by virtue of a family member being a serving Police Officer.

 

II SCOTTISH FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE - APPOINTMENT OF LOCAL SENIOR OFFICER

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN24-2015 advising the Committee that the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act required that a designated Local Senior Officer for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service be appointed for each Local Authority area and that the Local Authority be consulted on the appointment. The Local Senior Officer would be responsible for producing a local Fire and Rescue Plan, providing information and reports, participating in community planning and receiving feedback on the service. The Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service wished to appoint Colin Grieve as the Local Senior Officer for Dundee following Dave Stapley's retirement.

 

The Committee approved Mr Grieve's appointment.

 

III SCOTTISH FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORT 1ST OCTOBER, 2014 - 31STDECEMBER, 2014

 

There was submitted Report No 116-2015 by Group Manager Tait providing information for the Committee regarding the performance of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service against the priorities, outcomes and performance indicators detailed within the Local Fire and Rescue Plan for Dundee 2014/2017 to facilitate local scrutiny.

 

The Committee agreed to note, scrutinise and question the content of the report.

 

IV SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT BETWEEN DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL AND POLICE SCOTLAND - MONITORINGREPORT 2014/2015

 

There was submitted Report No 89-2015 by Director of Leisure and Communities providing an annual monitoring report on the Service Level Agreement between Dundee City Council and Police Scotland for the period 2014/2015 and seeking approval for continued funding for the period 2015/2016.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the contents of the monitoring report for the period 2014/2015;

 

(ii) agreed continued funding of 222,000 for the period 2015/2016; and

 

(iii) agreed the conversion of the Service Level Agreement into a contract for subsequent years, thus bringing the funding arrangements into line with other third party payments administered by Dundee City Council.

 

V CITY OF DUNDEE LOCAL POLICING AREA - PERFORMANCE RESULTS - 1ST OCTOBER, 2014 TO31ST DECEMBER, 2014

 

There was submitted Report No 124-2015 by Chief Superintendent Smith for the Committee's information.

 

The Committee agreed to note and scrutinise the content of the operational report.
