III 5TH REVIEW OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOUNDARY ARRANGEMENTS

There was submitted Report No 189-2015 by the Head of Democratic and Legal Services advising the Council of the proposals for wards by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland in respect of their 5th review of local government boundaries.

Bailie Sawers, seconded by Councillor Murray, moved that the Council should advise the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland that it supports the option as shown on the plan 256-2015 circulated at the meeting rather than the option proposed by the Commission on the basis that it is closer to parity and better reflects existing community boundaries (in particular in Menzieshill, Coldside and Happyhillock) and boundaries wards are more obvious.

As an amendment, Bailie Scott, moved that the Council should advise the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland that it does not support the proposals to transfer Polling District EAW or part of Polling District EAN to Ward 7 but failed to find a seconder, whereupon he asked for his dissent to be recorded and the motion was declared carried.
