II CHILDREN AND FAMILIES SERVICE IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2019/2022

There was submitted Report No 324-2020 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service providing the first annual update on the Children and Families Service Improvement Plan 2019/2022 (included as Appendix 1). The report outlined how the plan had been implemented both before and during the pandemic over the previous 12 months, in order to maintain a consistent focus on eight key priorities and continued to promote improved outcomes for children, young people, parents/carers and other adults. In order to build on progress in the first year and sustain this momentum, a new range of ambitious but deliverable targets had been set for 2020/2021. In addition to the Councils Children and Families Service Plan, Scottish Government required all education authorities to submit and publish an annual Education Improvement report. This was included as Appendix 2.

The Committee:-

(i)                            noted progress made over the last 12 months in the implementation of the first Children and Families Service Improvement Plan 2019/2022; and

(ii)                           requested the Executive Director of the Children and Families Service to submit a further update on the implementation of the plan in 12 months.

Stewart HUNTER, Convener.
