I LEISURE AND PARKS DEPARTMENT

(a) Redesignation Of Posts

Reference was made to the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th April, 2000 wherein it was agreed that the grades of Park Supervisors and Parks Officers/Inspectors remain unchanged.

The Committee agreed that in order to bring the post designations into line with the structure in the Leisure and Parks Department, the undernoted changes in post designations be approved.

(b) Early Retirement

The Committee agreed that in order to allow an employee aged 59 years with 40 years' pensionable service to retire, the sum of approximately 1,430 be paid to the Local Government Pension Fund, which amount was required to cover the period to the employees 60th birthday at which time he would be eligible to receive pension benefits and would be met from the Leisure and Parks Department's Revenue Budget.

II SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT - REGRADING OF POST

It was reported that at the request of the Director of Social Work, the Director of Personnel and Management Services had reviewed the grades of the post of Training Manager following an increase in the level of duties and responsibilities.

The Committee approved the recommendation that the post be regraded from PO3-6 (23,319-25,425) to PO7-10 (26,091-28,104), it being noted that the cost of the recommendation would be 525 in 2000/01 and 840 in a full financial year, which sum would be contained within the Social Work Department's Revenue Budget.

III SUPPORT SERVICES DEPARTMENT - REGISTRARS - APPLICATION FOR REGRADING - CLERICAL ASSISTANTS

There was submitted Report No. 452-2000 by the Director of Personnel and Management Services relative to the above.

The Committee approved the recommendation in report that since the grounds of the application had not been substantiated, the application be refused.

It was further agreed that the post be redesignated Receptionist/Clerical Assistant.

IV ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DEPARTMENT - APPLICATION FOR REGRADING - WASTE MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR

There was submitted Report No. 475-2000 by the Director of Personnel and Management Services relative to the above.

The Committee approved the recommendation in the report that the post of Waste Management Supervisor be regraded from Tech 3 (14,811-16,770) to Tech 4 (17,322-19,224).

V ARTS AND HERITAGE DEPARTMENT - REVISION OF ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

There was submitted Report No. 459-2000 by the Directors of Arts and Heritage and Personnel and Management Services relative to the above.

The Committee approved the recommendations in the report and agreed that the organisational structure as outlined in Appendix I thereto be approved.
