The minute of meeting of this Committee of 16th October, 2000 was held as read.

 

Unless marked thus * all items stand delegated.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

I COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted Report No 678-2000 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

II RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No 679-2000 by the Director of Economic Development detailing the review of rents in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

Unit 5, Old Glamis Road

7 Whorterbank, Lochee

10 West Port

 

III OFFSHORE EUROPE EXHIBITION - 4TH-7TH SEPTEMBER, 2001 - ABERDEEN

 

The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No 688-2000 outlining the proposal for Dundee City Council to exhibit at the above Exhibition for the oil and gas sector in Aberdeen from 4th to 7th September, 2001.

 

The Committee agreed to the participation of the Council at the Offshore Europe Exhibition under the auspices of the Dundee & Angus Oil Venture Group.

 

IV 77 PERTH ROAD, DUNDEE

 

It was reported that the above property had been advertised for lease and five offers had been received.

 

On the recommendation of the Director of Economic Development the Committee agreed to accept the highest offer received.

 

V SALE OF GROUND, SMEATON ROAD, DUNDEE

 

On a reference to Article VI of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th May, 2000 wherein it was agreed to sell a 0.9915 hectare site and 0.6878 hectare site to two interested companies, the Director of Economic Development advised that the companies had undergone corporate reorganisation and had requested that the sites be sold to the group's holding company.

 

The Committee agreed to the request and instructed the Director of Economic Development to request the Director of Support Services to conclude the necessary legal formalities.
