I CARPET BEDDING SCHEME - 2001
The Director of Leisure and Parks reported that his Department had two sites available for carpet bedding schemes at the McManus Galleries gardens in 2001 to celebrate a local or national event or charity.
The Committee agreed to requests from the Samaritans to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and the Cancer Research Scotland Annual Campaign.
II TENDERS RECEIVED
The City Architectural Services Officer submitted report No.628-2000 giving details of the offers received for the undernoted contracts:-
(a) Lochee Swimming and Leisure Centre - Poolside Stairway
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by EMS Euroweld amounting to 3,400 to which required to be added allowances for professional services of 655, making a total expenditure of 4,055.
(b) Olympia Leisure Centre
(i) Upgrade of Pool Hall Glazing
The Committee agreed to accept the lowest offer by Fenestra Films, Grangemouth amounting to 10,065 to which required to be added allowances of 1,000 for contingencies and 1,900 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 12,965.
(ii) Wave Pool Shower Area - Seepage of Water
The Committee agreed to accept the lower offer by Castle Contracting Ltd., Auchterarder amounting to 6,260 to which required to be added an allowance of 1, 200 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 7,460.
(iii) Plant Room Offices - Alterations
The Committee agreed to accept a negotiated offer with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 4,100 to which required to be added allowances of 106 for Building Warrant and 775 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 4,981.
(iv) Boiler Distribution Pump Replacement
The Committee agreed to accept a negotiated offer with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 11,500 under the Schedule of Rates to which required to be added an allowance of 1,840 for professional services, making a total expenditure of 13,340.
