The minute of meeting of this Committee of 14th August 2000 was held as read.

I GLOBAL DIGITAL CITIES NETWORK

 

The Director of Economic Development submitted Report No. 577-2000 describing the proposal that the City of Dundee joined the Global Digital Cities Network and making recommendations regarding participation.

 

The Committee agreed that:-

 

(a) Dundee City Council joins the Global Digital Cities Network;

 

(b)Dundee City Council participates at the inaugural meeting of the Network in Chunchon, Korea in November of this year;

 

(c)The City Council offers to hold a third annual meeting of the network in Dundee in 2002; and

 

(d)The financial provisions mentioned in the report be made available subject to the availability of resources.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted items of business on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

II COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted Report No. 550-2000 by the Director of Economic Development detailing commercial leases in respect of the undernoted premises:-

III RENT REVIEWS

 

There was submitted and approved Report No. 551-2000 by the Director of Economic Development detailing the review of rents in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

60A Craigmount Road

9 Teviotdale Avenue

209 Hilltown

63 Hilltown

 

IIV GROUND AT LIFF ROAD/PERRIE STREET

 

The Director of Economic Development reported that two parties leased the 0.12 hectare site or thereby at Liff Road/Perrie Street from the City Council for the purpose of car sales. Provisional agreement had been reached to sell the site to one party subject to the other party renouncing his interest in the subjects with the purchaser being responsible for payment of the Council's legal fees.

 

The Committee approved the provisional agreement.

 

V GROUND ADJACENT TO 13 HAWKHILL

 

The Director of Economic Development reported that provisional agreement had been reached with an interested party for the sale of the above 58 square metre site at Hawkhill/Session Street to be used along with property at 13 Hawkhill for the purpose of landscaped ground and siting of tables in connection with a restaurant business with the purchasers being responsible for payment of the Council's legal fees.

 

The Committee approved the provisional agreement

 

VI SITE AT FOGGYLEY GARDENS, DUNDEE

 

On a reference to Article VI(h) of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 17th April 2000 the Agents for the applicants had requested that the sale of the site be to another Company as detailed.

 

The Committee agreed to this request.
