The minute of meeting of this Committee of 8th May 2000 was held as read.

I SOCIAL INCLUSION PARTNERSHIP (GEOGRAPHIC) - ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES 2000/2001

 

There was submitted Report No. 398-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development making recommendations on the allocation of SIP1 capital funding for 2000/2001, the allocation of SIP1 revenue funding for youth work in Kirkton and Ardler and for the costs of external evaluations for two SIP funded projects, and further awards under the SIP1 Small Grant Programme. The report also provides further details of the SIP Spring Clean Up, which was carried out during March 2000 and the reallocation of revenue funding to the Community Safety Fund, both funded from slippage in the 1999/2000 Revenue Allocation.

 

The Committee approved the following recommendations:-

 

(i) to note the recommendations of the Dundee Partnership Community Regeneration Group in the allocation of SIP1 capital funding for 2000/2001 as detailed in Section 7.1 and Appendix A of the report.

 

(ii) to note the recommendations of the Dundee Partnership Community Regeneration Group in the allocation of SIP1 revenue funding for 2000/2001 as detailed in Sections 6.1 and 6.2 of the report.

 

(iii) to agree the award of SIP1 Small Revenue Grants as set out in Appendix C of the report.

 

(iv) to agree the awards of SIP2 Small Revenue Grants as set out in Appendix D of the report.

 

(v) to note the activity achieved as a result of the SIP Spring Clean Up, as detailed in Appendix B of the report, and the re-allocation to the Community Safety Fund.

 

II ADMINISTRATIVE GRANTS TO COMMUNITY COUNCILS 2000/2001

 

There was submitted Report No. 399-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Services and Development seeking approval for the payment of administrative grants for the financial year April 2000 to March 2001 to Community Councils in existence or established during the year and to confirm the formula for payment.

 

The Committee approved the following recommendations:-

 

(i) that administrative grants be awarded to all Community Councils currently in existence or established during 2000/2001 in accordance with Dundee City Council Scheme for the Operation of Community Councils (Report No. 332-1997).

 

(ii) that grants are awarded according to the following formula: a lump sum of 300 per Community Council plus 1.2p per resident in each Council's area. (See Appendix I of the report.)

 

(iii) that an administration grant of 400 be awarded to the Association of Dundee Community Councils.

 

III PLANNED MAINTENANCE 2000/2001 PHASE I

 

There was submitted Report No. 400-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development seeking approval for the City Architectural Services Officer to obtain offers and tenders, and for the Director of Support Services in conjunction with the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development, to accept these offers and tenders for Planned Maintenance Works up to a total cost of 50,000.

 

The Committee agreed that the City Architectural Services Officer be authorised to obtain offers and tenders for the Planned Maintenance Work and that the Director of Support Services, in conjunction with the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development, be authorised to accept the offers and tenders as recommended by the City Architectural Services Officer.

 

IV NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS FUND 11 2000/2001

 

At its meeting on 10th February 1997, the Committee approved the criteria and procedures for the Department's grant aid portfolio (Report No. 127/1997 refers).

 

There was submitted Report No. 401-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development detailing a recommended grant from the National Organisations Fund 11 2000/2001.

 

The Committee approved payment of 1,484 to the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC).

 

V INTERNATIONAL YOUTH WORK FUND 2000/2001

 

At its meeting on 10th February 1997, the Committee approved the criteria procedures for the Department's grant aid portfolio (Report No. 127/1997 refers).

 

There was submitted Report No. 402-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development detailing a recommended grant from the International Youth Work Fund 2000/2001.

 

The Committee approved payment of 814 to Wurzburg 2000.

 

VI SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT 1 2000/2001

 

At its meeting on 10th February 1997, the Committee approved the criteria procedures for the Department's grant aid portfolio (Report No. 127/1997 refers).

 

There was submitted Report No. 403-2000 by the Director of Neighbourhood Resources and Development detailing a recommended grant from Service Level Agreement 1 2000/2001.

 

The Committee approved payment of 150,000 to Whitfield Activity Complex.
