Households should leave any unemptied bins at the collection point until the end of the collection day at 3.30pm.

Reports of missed bins will only be accepted and logged after the end of the collection day from 3.45pm. This is to allow time for the missed streets to be updated in the section above.

If your bin has been tagged with an advisory notice you will not be able to report this as a missed bin.

Report a missed collection or collection problem

If a collection is missed due to vehicle access problems (such as building works or road closures), crews will make two further attempts over the following two working days. If access is restricted on both further occasions, then the collection must wait until the next scheduled collection day.

Where crews are running behind (for example, due to a vehicle breakdown), the route will be completed as soon as possible. This may mean your bin will not be emptied until the following day.

Returning for recycling collections will be scheduled for the most appropriate day and time depending on service availability (this may not always be possible on the following day).

If refuse or recycling bins have not been emptied because they were presented late or in the incorrect location, households are asked to wait until the next scheduled collection before they are emptied. In these circumstances, households will be required to return the bins to their usual storage location until the next collection.

Our collection vehicles are fitted with external CCTV cameras. If a report is received of a missed bin, footage from these cameras may be reviewed to confirm that the bin was presented for collection in time for the collection vehicle arriving.
