A £94,000 CONTRACT to renew a retaining wall in a Broughty Ferry street is set to be discussed by councillors.

The housing committee, which meets on Monday, will be asked to approve the work to replace around 100m of failed wall at Anton Drive.

John Alexander, committee vice convener said: “The wall holds back an embankment planted with trees and shrubs and in recent months it has developed cracks and a distinct tilt.

“When these were discovered after a considerable amount of overhanging foliage was cleared we moved quickly to fence it off for safety reasons.

“Now this contract will see a permanent solution which was welcomed by residents when they were consulted.”

Dundee City Council’s environment department is in line for the £94,144 job.
