WITH JUST over a fortnight to go until nominations close people are being urged to put forward someone whose good work qualifies them to be Dundee Citizen of the Year.
Each year Dundee City Council chooses a volunteer from the community to highlight their work and selfless efforts by naming them Citizen of the Year.
Lord Provost Bob Duncan said: “Nominations close on December 31 and I am keen that we have as many good candidates as possible to choose from.
“Being Citizen of the Year is a great honour, not just because it is given to someone that has delivered outstanding local service, normally on a voluntary basis, but also because they are put forward directly from members of their own community.
“There are still people in Dundee who quietly go about their life helping and doing good work, sometimes over many years and this is the opportunity to have that work recognised.
“Selected for selfless service to a voluntary body or the community or whose activities bring distinction and quality to everyday life in the city the award winner will live in the Dundee City Council area.”
The winner will be announced early in the new year.
