Improvements to Council Houses09/02/17
COUNCIL tenants could benefit from improvements to their homes if councillors accept a series of tenders next week.
More than £2.7 million of improvements would be carried out on homes across the city including:
- Alpin Road – Boiler Replacements
- Service and Maintenance of Warden Call Systems to 35 Sheltered housing complexes
- Clepington road – Boiler Replacements
- Tulloch Court and Bonnethill Court – Step replacement
Vari McDonald Depute Convener of Dundee City Council’s neighbourhood services committee said: “We are planning massive programme of works to ensure that our tenants are living in houses that are fit for the 21st century and as warm, fuel efficient and comfortable as possible.
“These particular works will install replacement gas boilers across the city and bring about other improvements like the replacement of steps.”
The committee is being recommended to accept Dundee City Council’s construction services as the tender for eleven of the twelve projects with McGills in Dundee being recommended as the tender for the Service and Maintenance of Warden Call Systems.
If the tenders are approved work on all of the projects is expected to be ongoing throughout the year.
The Neighbourhood Services Committee will meet to Monday February 13.
