Pupils return home to Braeview Academy19/12/18
Pupils have returned to Braeview Academy following a major fire at the secondary in September.
A complex of temporary classrooms has been created in the grounds of the school, while parts of the building are also being made available.
City council children and families service convener Councilor Stewart Hunter said: “An amazing amount of work has been put in to ensure that pupils can return ‘home’ to Braeview.
“I would like to thank everyone who has made this possible. It has been an excellent team effort.
“The head teacher and school staff deserve great credit for managing what has been a very difficult situation. I would also like to thank parents and families for their patience.
“Both Baldragon Academy and Craigie High School have done a fantastic job in playing host to Braeview Academy following the fire.”
Executive director of the city council’s children and families service Paul Clancy added: “The accommodation we are returning to is of a very high standard. We will also have access to more of the existing school facilities than previously thought.”
