VISITORS to Dundee will be guaranteed a bright blue welcome as a new colour scheme is introduced for the city centre ambassadors’ uniforms.
With the previous jacket, polo-shirt and other clothing due for renewal, council chiefs took the opportunity to refresh the ambassadors’ look.
Lynne Short convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee said: “Everyone’s wardrobe needs a bit of a lift sometimes and as our ambassadors are the face of the city for many of our visitors we wanted to make sure they are fresh and smart.
“The new uniform is also practical as it has to be able to protect the team from whatever the weather throws at them.
“They’ll still be easily identifiable and will still give the same level of service to members of the public, traders and our partners, but with a vibrant new look.
“City centre ambassadors are there to help the public and to deal with any issues that come up. These new uniforms will make them instantly recognisable and retain their place as a fixture of our cityscape.”
