The waste collection services will operate one day behind the regular collection day over Christmas and New Year.

Christmas week:

  • Wednesday 25th collections will be carried out on Thursday 26th December;
  • Thursday 26th collections will be carried out on Friday 27th December;
  • Friday 27th collections will be carried out on Saturday 28th December.

New Year week:

  • Wednesday 1st January collections will be carried out on Thursday 2nd January;
  • Thursday 2nd January collections will be carried out on Friday 3rd January;
  • Friday 3rd January collections will be carried out on Saturday 4th January.

Residents are encouraged to leave their kerbside bins or food caddies out for 48 hours if there are service delays.

Councillor Anne Rendall, Convener of Neighbourhood Services Committee, said: “We encourage residents to recycle their Christmas trees at Dawson Park, one of the city’s recycling centres or through the Council’s Christmas tree uplift service.

“Additionally, we’d urge everyone to remember to recycle Christmas cards, envelopes and wrapping paper in their blue bin after their celebrations.

“This is vitally important in minimising general waste and having a positive impact through recycling.”

Dundee’s Baldovie and Riverside Recycling Centres will be closed to the public on Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th December 2019 and Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd January 2020. The centres will be open 9am to 4:15pm on all other days (last entry 4pm).

The Riverside Composting site will also be closed on Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th December 2019 and Wednesday 1st & Thursday 2nd January 2020.

The special collections service will be suspended until Wednesday 8th January 2020. The service will complete requests up until Friday 18th December 2019.
