Return of Pupils Welcomed02/03/21
Dundee City Council's children and families convener is welcoming the First Minister's announcement that all primary children could be back in the classroom on March 15, with a phased return of secondary pupils from that date.
P4-7 children would go back to school from March 15, and all secondary pupils will receive part-time face-to-face teaching before the Easter holidays.
Councillor Stewart Hunter said: "This is great news and we want this return to go ahead from March 15.
"Schools will be in touch with families as soon as they can to confirm details.
"We have been given flexibility about how the phased return and blended learning will work for secondary pupils and we will be working hard to make sure our schools are safe for everyone.
"Our pupils who have been learning at home since the start of term will be delighted to get back to the classroom.
"This announcement is a big step forward. However, I would urge everyone to keep sticking to the rules so that the number of cases continues to decline.
"We all have an important role to play."
