Thank you, Volunteers04/06/21
Volunteers are being thanked for their efforts in supporting the city’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Lord Provost Ian Borthwick said: “I’m delighted to thank our incredible volunteers, during Volunteers Week.
“The work of volunteers often goes under the radar, but the pandemic has managed to raise their profile.”
Volunteer Week runs from 1-7 June and is about thanking and celebrating those who have given up their time to help others.
Lord Provost Borthwick continued: “I think we can all see that since the outbreak of COVID-19 our volunteers in the city have played an invaluable role and have gone above and beyond to help.
“They have been volunteering in our vaccination hubs, care homes, delivering meals, and supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the city.
“This week gives us the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the important role they play.
“Volunteers continue to be hugely important as we begin to recover from the pandemic, we should all take the time to thank them and recognise them for giving up their time for the greater good of the city.”
