Summer Holiday Free School Meal Payments01/07/21
Free school meal payments will be made to qualifying Dundee families to cover the summer holiday period as part of the city’s efforts to combat the ongoing impact of coronavirus.
Around 5,500 children will be covered by the scheme, which will pay £78.75 per child for over summer and paid directly to family bank accounts on Monday July 5.
Eligibility is for pupils in P1-3 who receive the school clothing grant. Payments will be made for pupils from P4 to S6 based on free school meal entitlement.
Children and families convener Councillor Stewart Hunter said: "It's very positive that the payments are continuing. We’ve heard from families across the city that the support has been vital during a very challenging year.
"It's been a tough time for everyone, but especially for our most vulnerable families."
