Search Continues for Citizen of the Year03/12/21
This year’s quest to find Dundee’s Citizen of the Year 2022 continues.
Each year the council choose someone, usually a volunteer, from the community to highlight their work and selfless efforts by naming them Citizen of the Year.
This is an opportunity to recognise someone who has gone the extra mile to support their community.
Lord Provost Ian Borthwick said: “In the past year we have seen people going above and beyond to support each other through the pandemic.
“Because of this I know the calibre for Citizen of the Year will be extremely high as we honour someone who has made a real impact to those around them.
“Nominations for this award close at the end of the year so there is still time to put someone forward for this award.
“If you know someone who has continued to act selflessly for those around them, make sure you show that they are appreciated and nominate them for Citizen of the Year.
“I want to thank those that have already taken the time to put someone forward for this award, I look forward to announcing the winner next year.”
Last year’s Citizen of the Year was Samantha Bruce of Food for Thought in Charleston and Lochee Community Larders, who continued to carry out the role for two years, throughout the pandemic.
If you feel anyone is worthy of nomination then please complete a nomination form and return it no later than 31st December 2021.
There is no age barrier, but if you nominate someone they must live within the Dundee City Council area. The full criteria are listed on the form.
Copies of the form are available on the Council's website www.dundeecity.gov.uk/supportservs/citizenyear Nominations close on December 31 2021, with the winner announced early next year.
