As part of the city’s Take Pride in Your City campaign, a community clean-up has taken place in the Linlathen area of Dundee.

The clean-up initiative, which is expected to be expanded to other parts of Dundee in the future, sees council teams carry out additional works throughout the area, as was the case this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Linlathen.

The works which took place in Linlathen included general litter and debris removal, additional grass cutting, the strimming of vegetation near walkways, tidying of selected open space communal areas, and further sweeping to path & street areas.

Neighbourhood Services Convener Councillor Heather Anderson said: “Our Take Pride in Your City campaign continues to make a real difference to our streets and communities. I warmly welcome the additional funding the Council has made additional to make initiatives like this happen.

“I know that Council staff have worked closely with this local community over the past months to identify the key areas where we can make a difference. This is what the Take Pride campaign is all about.

“It’s been a real pleasure to come along and support the campaign. I hope the community are proud of the work we have done together here and I look forward to working with more local communities in the coming months.”

More information about future community clean-ups will be communicated to residents directly ahead of them taking place.
