A Take Pride in Your City Community Clean-Up has taken place in the Coldside area as part of an ongoing campaign to help make a difference to Dundee’s neighbourhoods, parks and open spaces.

The clean-up, which is the third of its kind, saw council teams carry out additional works such as the removal of litter and debris, strimming near walkways, the tidying up of open spaces, and further sweeping to path and street areas.

Neighbourhood Services Committee Convener Heather Anderson said: “We want everyone to take pride of place in their neighbourhood. Through the Take Pride in Your City campaign, we are continuing the Community Clean-Up initiative which has shown to make a real difference to city streets and communities.

“Council staff have worked with the local community to act on key areas raised in their neighbourhood to improve the condition and appearance where they live.

“Through this and the previous Community Clean-Ups, I have seen first-hand the positive impacts that the work being carried out can have. This has led to plans for further areas to benefit from this project too.”

The initiative has previously taken place in the Linlathen and Maryfield areas of the city.

More information about future community clean-ups will be communicated to residents directly ahead of them taking place.
