Dundee's 2nd Faith Leadership Event

Dundee

Representatives from all of the faith groups in Dundee have, once again, been welcomed to Dundee City Chambers for an event with the City’s political leaders.

An event for Faith Leaders was held yesterday afternoon (14 March), following up on an event held earlier in the year to explore the ‘Faith Covenant’.

It was attended by twenty-six Faith Leaders representing more than fifteen distinctive communities.

Organised by Dundee City Council and
Faith In The Community Dundee, the event was an opportunity for city leaders to explore how best to deliver for communities in the face of increasing challenges.

Councillor John Alexander said: “Our diverse and dynamic city has many communities within it and it’s important for us, as a council, to engage with every one of them.

“In hosting this event, we send a clear signal that it is our intention is to represent every single person who has chosen to make Dundee their home. Our faith communities play an active and important role and we recognise and celebrate that role.

“These events should be a beacon and illustration of how our diverse communities work and come together. I am pleased to continue working with our faith leaders and will continue to champion any future events.”

The event itself explored recently adopted faith definitions, the practicalities of how we better work together & represent citizens and key areas of future collaboration.
