Live Streaming of Council Meetings

Members of the public will be able to watch live streams of Council meetings from next week.

Meetings will be streamed throughout the year on YouTube. The meetings can either be watched live or – as is the case at present - viewed at a later date.

The streaming service will cover meetings of the following committees:

  • Children, Families & Communities Committee
  • City Governance Committee
  • Climate, Environment & Biodiversity Committee
  • Dundee City Council
  • Dundee City Council as Fleming Trustees
  • Fair Work, Economic Growth & Infrastructure Committee
  • Neighbourhood Regeneration, Housing & Estate Management Committee

Dundee City Council leader Councillor John Alexander said: “The decisions that our committees take affect every person who lives or works in Dundee.

“While we have maintained online access to our democratic processes through the challenges of the pandemic, the move to YouTube live streaming will make it easier than ever for citizens to view these meetings.

“It’s important for democracy that citizens are informed, engaged and involved – seeing how they are being represented by those they vote for and how taxpayers' money is being spent.

"As we transition to hybrid meetings in the City Chambers in 2024, I’m pleased to see this streaming service being launched and encourage members of the public to make use of it.”

The first broadcast is of Dundee City Council, the Fair Work, Economic Growth & Infrastructure Committee and City Governance Committee on Monday, January 8.

The meeting begins at 5pm. The agendas and a link to view the live stream can be found on this page.
