Dundee School Praised in Inspection Report

St Ninians Primary School has been praised for their high-quality teaching and learning.
The school received a very positive inspection report following a visit from Education Scotland.
Education Scotland highlighted a number of strengths in the inspection report including, strong leadership provided by the headteacher and depute headteacher, the positive relationships between staff and children, and for ensuring that children are involved in decisions about the school.
In addition, the report praised the school for working with St John’s High School to ensure children are well supported as they transition to secondary school.
The school was rated as ‘Very Good’ in all the quality indicators; leadership of change, teaching and assessment, ensuring wellbeing equality and inclusion, and raising attainment and achievement.
The quality indicators for nursery class rated leadership of change, learning and teaching and assessment, equality and inclusion, and securing children’s progress as 'good'.
Some areas of improvement were identified which were already in the school’s improvement plan, including staff continuing to develop how they assess children's progress and work to ensure all children attain and achieve as highly as possible.
Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter said: "This is a very positive inspection report that highlights the great work that goes on in the school to ensure high quality learning and teaching.
"I want to thank all the staff at the school, the children and their families who all work together to make sure the school creates a nurturing and caring environment.
"There were two areas for improvement in this report and we will take this on board as we move forward."
