Britain in Bloom judges visit Dundee

Britain in Bloom judges have visited the city as part of the Bonnie Dundee entry in the City category of the 2024 awards.
Administered by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the Britain in Bloom competition celebrates and supports communities who have come together to make positive and lasting changes to their local environment.
Bonnie Dundee is a partnership of many groups and organisations who have taken forward Dundee’s entry in the City category for the past nineteen years.
The Dundee entry incorporates a city-wide network of community groups, organisations, the Council, businesses, schools, and individuals who are collectively making the city cleaner, greener, brighter and healthier.
Climate, Environment & Biodiversity Convener Cllr Heather Anderson said: “I am very pleased that the Britain in Bloom judges have visited our city as part of the process of Bonnie Dundee’s entry reaching the final of the UK-wide competition.
“Dundee’s many community volunteers and Council staff work exceptionally hard throughout the year enhancing the city’s environment, encouraging participation, and ensuring the city is seen at its best.
“I congratulate everyone involved on their hard work and enthusiasm and wish Dundee’s entry every success in the Britain in Bloom UK Finals.”
Experienced volunteer judges visited staff and volunteers at Barnhill Rock Garden, Dawson Park Community Garden, the City Centre, Seabraes, Ninewells Community Garden, Maxwell Centre & Garden and the University of Dundee Botanic Garden during their tour.
The winner will be announced in October later this year when the results are declared at the Britain in Bloom awards ceremony.
