Camperdown Park arrangements for Doof in the Park

With Dundee DJ Hannah Laing’s Doof in the Park festival taking place in the city on Saturday July 5, people are being advised of short-term access restrictions affecting the Camperdown Park venue.
With around 15,000 attendees expected to descend on Camperdown for the one-day dance event, citizens without tickets are being encouraged to avoid the area and take the chance to explore Dundee’s many other parks and green spaces that day instead.
Some areas of the park will also be restricted during the festival site build and dismantling works for operational and public safety reasons. The event is being organised by promoters EE Live.
Areas will be fenced off from Friday June 27 as site preparation gets under way.
People are being advised that lorries and other delivery vehicles will be moving in and around the park during that time.
Camperdown Park will be open as normal during set up and take down, although there will be a restriction in place for the core path to the side of the event.
Signage will be placed to make the public aware.
Camperdown Wildlife Centre will be closed on Saturday July 5, and there won’t be any access to the adventure play complex.
Road restrictions will be in place on the Saturday with major road closures taking place around the park from 9pm.
Following the event, the site is expected to be cleared by Friday July 11. People are being advised that there will be lorry and vehicle movements within the park during this period.
Climate, Environment and Biodiversity depute convener Councillor Nadia El-Nakla said: “The Camperdown Park experience for those not attending Doof in the Park won’t be what people are used to on the day the festival is taking place.
“So to avoid disappointment we’re encouraging only people with event tickets to visit Camperdown on the Saturday.
“Why not take the opportunity to explore some of Dundee’s many other fantastic parks and open spaces over that weekend instead? Full details can be found on our website.”
