Results Day Message from Convener

Children, Families and Communities Convener Stewart Hunter is congratulating pupils on their achievements as SQA results are texted and posted to them today (Tuesday 5 August).
Councillor Hunter said: “Today, more than 3,000 young people across Dundee received their SQA examination results.
"They have worked extremely hard to prepare for these exams and to achieve results that will help them plan their next steps for the future.
"This year, a total of 16,428 SQA awards were undertaken, an increase from 14,956 in the previous year.
"I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to every young person on their achievements. These outcomes are a testament to their hard work and determination, supported by their families and our dedicated school staff.
"Support is available in schools for any young person seeking advice or guidance. Each school have communicated directly with families regarding how to access this support."
All candidates will have received their results by post on Tuesday 5 August. Royal Mail has confirmed that some areas of Scotland will experience delays to the delivery of their certificates due to Storm Floris. Young people can contact their school or college to get their results.
Candidates who have activated their MySQA accounts will also receive their results by text/email.
From 8am on results day, the SQA will open their Candidate Advice Line on 0345 279 1000 to answer young people’s questions.
Young people can also speak to dedicated careers advisors on the Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Helpline on 0808 100 8000 if they have any questions about their next steps.
The Council’s Children and Families Service is currently analysing the full set of results. A detailed report will be presented to the Education Committee later in the academic session, once the appeals process has concluded.
