Housing Strategy consultation

DUNDONIANS are being encouraged to have their say on the future of all types of housing in the city with the launch of a new consultation.
Views on the proposed Dundee Local Housing Strategy 2025 – 2030 are being canvassed including assessing and mitigating any impacts on anyone with protected characteristics and those related to fairness and poverty.
Kevin Cordell, convener of Dundee City Council’s neighbourhood, housing and communities committee said: “As well as seeking to respond to social, economic and environmental challenges, this bold strategy, is grounded in the everyday realities faced by the people who live in the city.
“We are committed to collaboration, innovation and continuous engagement with our partners, communities and stakeholders. Together, we will strive to make Dundee a fairer, greener and more inclusive city for everyone. “But of course to do that we need people to take part in the survey and let us know their views.”
The strategy includes six priorities: adequate supply of housing; placemaking and communities; homelessness; promote independent living and health through housing and communities; housing quality and energy efficiency; and private rented sector.
Details of the survey can be found here and responses should be submitted by February 9, next year.
