EV Drivers to Benefit from Lower Tariffs

From next week (Tuesday September 1), EV drivers using Dundee City Council charge points on the Evolt Network will benefit from lower charging tariffs. 

A leading councillor is welcoming the announcement and is highlighting how the move will help make public EV charging more affordable for residents, businesses and visitors. 

The revised tariffs are: 

• AC charging: 55p per kWh (previously 57p per kWh) 

• Rapid charging: 67p per kWh (previously 69p per kWh) 

• Ultra-rapid charging: 69p per kWh (unchanged) 

Cllr Siobhan Tolland, Depute Convener of City Growth and Infrastructure and Transport Lead at Dundee City Council, said: 

“These reductions are great news for EV driver in Dundee during the ongoing cost of living crisis. I am impressed how our partnership with Evolt is already bringing about benefits for people using the network and making costs more affordable. 

“Dundee’s pioneering efforts in electrifying our transportation infrastructure and embracing innovative technologies have firmly positioned the city as a leader in the EV space. But we are not complacent. The council will continue to work on actions set out in our Net Zero Transition Plan to become a more sustainable city and support the growth of quality green jobs.” 

The revised pricing follows a review of operating costs and usage, with Dundee City Council and Evolt passing savings directly on to EV drivers. 

Time limits on some chargers across the city are being extended from six hours to twelve hours. These can be found at Alexander St, Balmerino Rd, Camperdown Country Park, Coldside Nursery, Craigowan Rd, Dawson Park and Deveron Tc.  

As one of Scotland's leading destinations for electric mobility, Dundee continues to invest in accessible and reliable public charging infrastructure, making it easier for more people to make the switch to electric.
