The school attendance rate for care experienced children in the academic year 2024/25 was 79.5%, a decrease from 82.8% in 2023/24.
This is an indicator included within the Local Government Benchmarking Framework (LGBF). It was previously reported biennially, but it is now reported annually. The data is sourced from the Scottish Government's Children's Social Work Statistics: Looked After Children publication. This includes care experienced children who Dundee City Council is responsible for, but also includes children who attend school outwith the local authority.
The Benchmark Target is the average of Dundee City Council's family group of similar local authorities.
