People in Dundee have a new reason to get on their bikes. There is a newly constructed Mountain Bike Skills Trail in Templeton Woods. The trail has been designed and built by Architrail who have built Olympic and Commonwealth Games mountain bike facilities with funding from Commonwealth Games Legacy 2014 Active Places. The Templeton Woods trail winds its way through an underused plantation providing a range of challenges to help riders learn mountain bike skills and develop confidence.

The challenges along the trail include steps and drops, jumps, tight corners, rock and root obstacles and challenging climbs. Please read the sign at the start of the trail for safety information and tips. The Blue trail has easy options around TTFs and is suitable for riders with experience of off road riding. The Red trail is for experienced riders. You will need a well maintained quality Mountain Bike and wear cycle helmet and gloves.

Finding Templeton Tangle
Using the Green Circular, go through Camperdown Park carefully cross Coupar Angus Road into Templeton Woods. From St Mary’s use the Green Circular from Clatto Park. The Trail starts near the Water Tower on Gallow Hill, the highest point in Dundee. Please give other users of the woods time to let you pass. Expect horse riders, families and dog walkers in particular.
