What is Fresh Start Relief?
Fresh Start Relief provides 100% rates relief for up to 12 months to businesses that take on long-term empty properties. It is designed to encourage the re-use of vacant premises and support economic growth.
You may qualify if:
- The property was unoccupied for at least 6 months before you moved in.
- The property has a rateable value of £100,000 or less.
- You are the new occupier and have started using the property for business purposes.
How Much Relief Will I Get?
- 100% discount on non-domestic rates for up to 12 months from the date you occupy the property.
- If the property changes occupier during the relief period, the new occupier can claim the remaining balance.
