The Small Business Bonus Scheme (SBBS) is designed to help small businesses on Scotland by reducing their non-domestic rates (business rates). This means lower overhead costs, allowing business to invest more in growth and sustainability.
To qualify for SBBS, your business must meet these criteria:
- Combined rateable value of all your business premises in Scotland is £35,000 or less.
- Each individual property has a rateable value of £20,000 or less.
- The property is actively occupied.
Note: Certain property types are excluded, such as car parks, advertising sites, betting shops, and payday lending outlets.
How much relief can I get?
Relief depends in your property(s) rateable value (RV):
Relief is available for occupied property(s) with a rateable value of up to £12,000 or combined rateable value of £35,000 or less.
