Green Dog Walkers

What is 'Green Dog Walkers'?Green Dog Walkers logo

Green Dog Walkers is a non-confrontational, friendly way to change attitudes about dog fouling in Dundee. Volunteers wear a Green Dog Walkers arm band (or their dogs wear a Green Dog Walkers lead sleeve or bandana) to show they have 'taken the pledge' to always:

  • Clean up after their dog
  • Carry extra dog waste bags
  • Be happy to be approached to 'lend' a dog waste bag to those without
  • Be a friendly reminder to other dog walkers to cleanup after their dogs

The scheme is starting in Broughty Ferry supported by Broughty in Bloom, but we hope that other community groups will come on board. Green Dog Walkers began in Falkirk, by 2 dog walkers who were fed up of others leaving dog mess. Many local authorities are adopting the scheme and there are now over 3000 pledgers throughout the UK and Ireland.

Green Dog Walkers has previously won the UK Kennel Club Dog Recognition Award and was also featured at the Crufts Dog Show, Crufts TV, and on the BBC Radio 4 'The Scoop on Poop'.
