This Privacy Policy explains what personal information the Housing Asset Management Team of Dundee City Council collects about you and how it is used by us in order to obtain ECO Flex funding from SSE towards the cost of External Wall Insulation Programme at your block of flats.

Why do we need your personal information and what do we do with it?

You are giving us your personal information to allow us to assess your eligibility for ECO Flex funding. We collate this information and advise SSE via a signed declaration and in summary form which blocks of flats are eligible i.e. we do not send your personal details on to them. We also use your information to contact you by post, email or telephone and to maintain our records.

Legal basis for using your information:

We provide these services to you as part of our statutory function as your local authority. If you do not provide us with the information we have asked for then we will not be able to obtain ECO Flex funding and this could mean that you and all other private householders in your block are required to make a financial contribution to the works or, at worst, the insulation work may not be able to proceed at all.

Who do we share your information with?

As stated above the only other organisation with which we share information we ask you to provide for the purposes of ECO flex eligibility is SSE and even then the information is in summary form, indicating which blocks are eligible for the funding that will allow works to proceed.

How long do we keep your information for?

We only keep your personal information for the minimum period amount of time necessary. Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on the business need as in the case of assessing eligibility for ECO Flex.
