What will Digital on the Move contain? There are 4 "digital on the move" packages. Each package contains: 4 laptops and a 4G Hub (mobile broadband for multi-user connectivity - creating portable wi-fi hotspots). Who can use Digital on the Move? These packages will be lent to project partners to provide and deliver pop up IT Hubs in venues across the city. What is to be delivered using Digital on the Move?Digital on the Move is to assist people who have little or no IT skills to be able to gain confidence in using computers and accessing information from the internet. The purpose of developing these skills is to help vulnerable groups to be better able to cope with the changes in the welfare system. What expectations are placed on partners? The pop-up IT Hubs will provide the setting and opportunity for vulnerable people to gain IT skills including how to access the internet in a supportive atmosphere. It is felt that this will be most successful where this support can be delivered through the project partner's own staff/volunteers. How do I access the equipment? You will be able to book the equipment from: Mitchell Street Centre, Mitchell Street, DundeeEmail: email@example.comTel: 01382 434801 Each partner must be able to collect and return the equipment - on returning please ensure to inform Dundee City Council staff of any issues with the IT equipment. How long can I keep the equipment? It is the intention that as many organisations as possible can access the equipment, therefore it is not proposed to offer long term loans at this stage, unless it can be shown that the equipment can be used on a daily basis with the targeted groups. Responsibilities with regard to usage of equipment Partners are asked to ensure that the equipment is returned at the time agreed and that each laptop/iPad is ready to go out to the next organisation - this means that the equipment should be checked to ensure that nothing has been saved to the hard drive and that it has been wiped clean ready for use by the next group. If any laptop/iPad is damaged or is found to be in-operable please inform reception staff on return so that any issues can be dealt with before the equipment is lent out again.
