The access granted by Dundee City Council will be Angus residents in the Monifieth and Sidlaw ward only from February 2022.

No. However the site attendants may enquire as to the type, source and origin of the waste you are bringing to the centres.

These are outlined below:

Vehicles that don't require a permit

• car, estate car, people carrier;
• MPV;
• 4x4.

Vehicles that do require a permit

• van;
• pick-up;
• car, van or pick-up with single axis trailer;
• mini-bus (8-11 seats).

Vehicles not allowed on site

• commercial vans;
• a vehicle over 3500kg gross weight;
• a tipper;
• a vehicle with a twin axle trailer;
• a vehicle with more than 4 wheels;
• a vehicle or pedestrian carrying commercial waste.

No. Dundee City Council cannot currently accept commercial waste at the centres.

No. The arrangements for Angus Council residents from Monifieth & Sidlaw ward to be granted access to the Dundee City Council recycling centres is a pre-existing agreement which was agreed to start following commencement of the next stage of the Dundee & Angus Waste Partnership Contract, a stage which we have now achieved. This recycling centre access is part of the formal waste partnership which exists between the two councils and there are no other reciprocal arrangements with other councils involved.
