I SCOTTISH DANCE THEATRE - REVENUE SUPPORT 2001/2002

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 196-2001 requesting renewal of revenue funding to the Scottish Dance Theatre for the year 2001/2002.

 

The Committee approved the level of grant funding amounting to 20,946 as set out in the report.

 

II DUNDEE CONTEMPORARY ARTS LTD - REVENUE SUPPORT 2001/2002

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 200-2001 requesting a renewal of revenue support to Dundee Contemporary Arts Ltd for the year 2001/2002.

 

The Committee approved the level of revenue support amounting to 249,415 as set out in the report.

 

III DUNDEE REPERTORY THEATRE COMMUNITY DRAMA DEPARTMENT - REVENUE SUPPORT 2001/2002

 

The Director of Arts & Heritage submitted Report No 201-2001 requesting renewal of revenue funding to Dundee Repertory Theatre Community Drama Department for the year 2001/2002.

 

The Committee approved the level of grant funding amounting to 17,912 as set out in the report.

 

IV DUNDEE REPERTORY THEATRE MAIN HOUSE - REVENUE SUPPORT 2001/2002

 

The Director of Arts & Heritage submitted Report No 202-2001 requesting renewal of revenue funding to Dundee Repertory Theatre Main House for the year 2001/2002.

 

The Committee approved the level of grant funding amounting to 253,424 as set out in the report.

 

V MAJOR PROJECT GRANTS AND SMALL PROJECT GRANTS

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 214-2001 seeking approval to award grants to a range of Arts and Heritage organisations.

 

The Committee authorised the payment of 3,500 for grants detailed in the appendix to the report.

 

VI BROUGHTY CASTLE MUSEUM DEVELOPMENT

 

The Director of Arts & Heritage submitted Report No 224-2001 outlining the current position regarding Broughty Castle Museum and the potential for development.

 

The Committee (a) noted the current position outlined in the report; (b) remitted to the Director of Arts and Heritage to develop and submit a Heritage Lottery Fund application as outlined in the report; (c) remitted to the Director of Arts and Heritage to appoint a special Interpretative Designer to assist in the development of the Heritage Lottery bid; and (d) remitted to the Director of Arts and Heritage and the Director of Economic Development to invite tenders for seasonal catering at Broughty Castle Museum.

 

VII BROUGHTY CASTLE MUSEUM PUBLIC PROGRAMME

 

The Director of Arts and Heritage submitted Report No 225-2001 outlining the proposals for a public events programme at Broughty Castle Museum between April and October 2001.

 

The Committee noted the new initiative of providing an events programme at Broughty Castle Museum.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1973 that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6 and 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

 

VIII SITE AT BLINSHALL STREET

 

On a reference to Article I of the minute of meeting of this Committee of 15th March, 1999 it was reported for the information of the Committee that after consultation with the Convener and Opposition Groups spokespersons a lease had been granted to the interested party for the above site on terms and conditions detailed.
