I ENVIRONMENTAL AND CONSUMER PROTECTION DEPARTMENT - SERVICE PLAN - PERFORMANCE REPORT

 

There was submitted Report No 477-2001 by the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection advising the Committee of the Department's performance for the year 2000/01 against targets set in the Environmental and Consumer Protection Department's Service Plan.

 

The Committee noted the terms of the report.

 

II LEASE OF TROMMEL

 

There was submitted Report No 506-2001 by Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection seeking authority to lease one waste trommel for use at the Baldovie Transfer Station and Waste Processing Plant.

 

The Committee agreed to accept the offer from Doppstadt (UK) Ltd for the supply of the Doppstadt SM518, and agreed that the equipment be leased over a period of six years at an annual cost of 14,000.

 

III THE FOOD SAFETY ACT 1990

ICE CREAM (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 1948/1970 (AS AMENDED)

IV ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT 1990 - ABATEMENT NOTICE IN RESPECT OF STATUTORY NUISANCE

 

It was reported for the information of the Committee, that following a number of complaints from residents in the Benvie Road area of the City, the Director of Environmental and Consumer Protection, after consultation with the Convener and the spokespersons of the Major and Majority Groups, had approved the issue of a Noise Abatement in respect of an intruder alarm on a garage in Benvie Road.

 

The Committee noted accordingly.

 

V SCOTTISH ACCIDENT PREVENTION COUNCIL ANNUAL CONFERENCE

 

It was reported that the Scottish Accident Prevention Council's Annual Conference would be held in Crieff on 10th/11th September, 2001 at a cost per delegate of 120 excluding travel and subsistence.

 

The Committee authorised the attendance of the Convener, or his nominee.
