I 2003/2004 PAYMENT OF RATES FOR INDEPENDENT SECTOR CARE HOMES FOR OLDER PEOPLE

 

Councillor Borthwick declared an interest in this item and took no part in the discussion thereafter.

 

On a reference to Article IV of the minute of meeting of 17th March 2003 there was submitted Report No 298-2003 by the Director of Social Work recommending final payment of rates for 2003/2004 for independent sector care homes for older people.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) that the undernoted fees for care homes for older people be fixed for 2003/2004 at:-

(ii) that these rates be applicable from 17th April, 2003.

 

II SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT - CARE MANAGEMENT - ESTABLISHMENT OF ADDITIONAL POSTS

 

There was submitted Joint Report No 291-2003 by the Director of Social Work and the Director of Personnel and Management Services on revised staffing arrangements within Community Care to enable the Social Work Department to meet additional workloads resulting from new legislation.

 

The Committee agreed:-

 

(i) that the contents of the report which detailed how the Social Work Department would meet its additional responsibilities arising from recent legislation and which demonstrated an increased commitment to working jointly with the four Dundee hospitals to minimise the level of delayed discharge be approved; and

 

(ii) to note that the resulting personnel implications detailed in the report would be considered by the Personnel and Management Services Committee.
