The minute of meeting of this Committee of 25th October, 2010 was held as read.

I TAY STATION BRIDGE REPLACEMENT - NEW STATION CONCOURSE - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN144-2010 advising that as part of the Dundee Central Waterfront Development, tenders had been invited for provision of professional services for the design and site supervision of the Tay Station Bridge replacement and new station concourse. In view of the timescales involved, the Director of City Development, following consultation with the Convener and Spokespersons for the other Groups, had accepted the lowest offer from Jacobs Engineering Ltd, in the sum of 624,699.77, to which required to be added allowances amounting to 631,000.23, giving a total expenditure of 1,255,700.00. Nicoll Russell Studios, Dundee had been listed as sub‑contractors.

 

The Committee noted the above.

 

II TREE PRESERVATION ORDER 8/2010 - LAND SOUTH OF HOLLY ROAD, BROUGHTY FERRY, DUNDEE

 

There was submitted Agenda Note AN145-2010 advising that on 12th August, 2010, the Council made a provisional Tree Preservation Order on the above mentioned site in order to protect the arboreal amenity of the area. A tree work request was thereafter submitted to the Council to remove a sycamore and permission was granted to remove this tree, and the Tree Preservation Order was modified accordingly.

 

No objections had been received to this Tree Preservation Order.

 

The Committee therefore authorised the Depute Chief Executive (Support Services) and the Director of City Development to undertake the necessary procedures and confirm the above Tree Preservation Order.

 

III TENDERS RECEIVED BY CITY ENGINEER

 

There was submitted Report No 657-2010 by the City Engineer detailing tenders received in respect of Tay Street Lane - Mews Buildings Repairs.

 

The Committee approved a partnership project with Dundee Contract Services amounting to 184,078.46, to which required to be added allowances amounting to 23,921.54, giving a total expenditure of 208,000.00.

 

The Committee resolved under Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the undernoted item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 9 of Part I of Schedule 7A of the Act.

 

IV COMMERCIAL LEASES

 

There was submitted and noted Report No 669-2010 by the Director of City Development detailing the commercial lease agreed in respect of the undernoted premises:-

 

Ground at King's Cross Road.
