I DECLARATION OF INTEREST

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

II EXPANSION OF EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE ENTITLEMENT TO 1,140 HOURS

 

There was submitted Report No 311-2017 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service providing the Committee with background and associated information to inform the planned expansion of Early Learning and Childcare from 600 hours to 1,140 hours by 2020.

 

The Committee agreed to:-

 

(i) note the content of the report; and

 

(ii) support the further development of a delivery model based on the outline provided within the report.

 

III CORPORATE PARENTING PLAN

 

There was submitted Report No 310-2017 by the Executive Director of Children and Families Service outlining the requirements of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 for local authorities and 23 other public bodies to develop a Corporate Parenting Plan for Looked After Children.

 

The Committee:-

 

(i) approved the Corporate Parenting Plan for Dundee City Council and the priorities, actions and intended outcomes proposed within it; and

 

(ii) requested a 12 month update within the context of the annual report on the Tayside Plan for Children and Young People 2017-2020.
